"Sam" Snippit

Here is a little treat, a small snippit from my book. "Sam"

I looked at Jaxson, and the fear and terror of the story was on his face. He was being serious, and that triggered some fear in me. I turned around to look at the ravine one more time just as a cloud was passing overhead. The Forest fell into deep shadow. I scanned the shadows and saw a huge furry creature deep in the brush. As I spotted the animal, it looked directly at me. The eyes seemed to pierce right through me. The eyes were a glowing green color almost like the eyes of a cat. I was frozen in place, the presents of the beast did not scare me it was welcoming like this creature was a long lost friend. I started to walk forward towards the beast when my arm was grabbed and I was being hulled backwards.

She stays away from her beloved town and only family that is left for two hundred years before going back. When she returns she finds love with an unlikely creature. As there love flourishes other vampires want her for the power that she possesses. Will she be able to save her only family member left on earth? Can she hold on to her new found love or will the other vampires kill them all?
