Jaxson let go of my hand, grabbed me by the waist, and flung me into a tree. I
mean literally picked me up and flung me up into a tree, and in the same second
was right behind me yelling at me to climb, climb. The tree trunk had to be
every bit of fifty foot around and about two hundred feet tall. We climbed to
the top of the tree and stood on a branch.
In
a calm collected voice, he said. “Don’t look down, please don’t look down.” He
was practically begging me.
I was doing my best
not to look, when the tree shook violently, almost knocked us to the ground. I
risked a glance down to see what had made the tree tremble under us.
